Are moisture testing and crack repair included in the quote, or extra?

Moisture testing is always included as standard. Crack repair is priced based on what your slab actually needs, and we’ll show you that cost during the estimate, not after work has started.

Timeline & Process

How long does installation take?

Most garage floor coatings take one to two days from prep to final topcoat. We’ll give you an exact timeline during your free estimate based on your space and any repair work needed.

How long before I can park on my new floor?

You can typically walk on the floor within 24 hours and park vehicles after 48 to 72 hours, depending on the topcoat used. We’ll give you exact cure times before we leave.

Do I need to empty the garage before you arrive?

Yes, the space needs to be cleared for grinding and coating. We can discuss options for helping move larger items during your estimate if that’s a concern.

What happens on installation day?

We diamond-grind the slab, repair any cracks, run moisture testing, apply the base coat and any flake or decorative broadcast, then finish with the topcoat. We tape off and contain the work area to control dust and overspray throughout.

Moisture & Durability

Does Charleston’s humidity affect epoxy installation?

Will my epoxy floor peel or bubble?

How long does an epoxy floor actually last?

A properly tested, prepped, and installed epoxy floor typically lasts ten to fifteen years or more in residential use, and often longer with light commercial traffic. The lifespan depends heavily on the prep work done before coating, not just the product used.

Colors, Finishes & Appearance

What finish options are available?

We install solid color, flake/chip, quartz broadcast, and metallic marbled finishes, plus polyaspartic topcoats for extra UV stability. See our metallic and decorative options for examples.

Will my floor yellow over time?

Standard epoxy can yellow with prolonged UV exposure, which is why we recommend a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat for garages with windows or frequently open doors — it resists yellowing that straight epoxy doesn’t.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean and maintain an epoxy floor?

Regular sweeping and occasional mopping with a pH-neutral cleaner is all that’s needed. Avoid harsh acidic cleaners or abrasive pads, which can dull the topcoat’s shine over time.

Can hot tires damage an epoxy floor?

A properly cured polyaspartic or epoxy system with adequate cure time handles normal tire heat without issue. Hot tire pickup (a sticky residue effect) is more common with lower-quality or improperly cured coatings.
